Carers need someone to listen to them

We want to give stroke survivors and their carers the tools and support they need to reconnect with one another and with life.

Reconnect-To-Life is a program about learning more about ourselves, how to find the solutions right for you, your loved one and your unique circumstance.

You can’t pour from an empty cup!

In short, carers are operating under increasing stress. If their cup is close to empty, how can they care for the person they love and themselves?

Friends and relatives cannot know or even hope to understand the Carer’s daily struggles.

Only another Carer can understand.

Of course, the same applies to survivors. Only another survivor can understand their struggles.

Reconnect-to-Life teaches Carers how to support other Carers by teaching them the skill of Deep Listening.

The Reconnect to Life community

The community is about assisting Carers to learn to listen deeply, helping their survivor and other carers to find their pathway to recovery that is appropriate for their unique situation.

Carers learn 15 Deep Listening communication skills.

The listener:

1. Helps the person by appropriately sharing their story.

2. Suspends assumptions and judgement

3. Ask questions based on curiosity

4. Does not offer solutions or advice

5. Coaches the speaker to discover what is right for them.

Deep Listing helps the other person think through their issue at a deeper level.

Join our community an make it part of your support system.
